To position the country on higher growth projecting and to capitalize on the advantage of providing skilled manpower to the manufacturing and service sector of the country and also to the international market, Government of India has created a new Ministry –The Ministry of Skill Development Entrepreneurship. The State Government has also created a Skill Development Corporation. To achieve the objective and goal of Skill Development Entrepreneurship and Innovation with coordinated efforts and convergence of services with Departments like Higher Education, School Education, Technical Education, Labour, Employment & Training, Panchayat Raj & Rural Development Department, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has created a new department of Skill Entrepreneurship and Innovation

Objective: To Implement a structured and pragmatic solution to skill and update the workforce in the state of A.P. and to increase employability, and promote entrepreneurship in sync with Industrial growth of the State.

Context:

Andhra Pradesh will face an incremental Human resources requirement of approximately 10 million skilled workers between 2012 till 2022, across the high-priority and emerging sectors.

Vision:

To be the best state in India and to be competing with the best in the world by 2022, when India celebrates its 75th year of independence and to achieve the status of a fully developed state by 2029.

Mission:

To skill 20 million people in 15 years by meeting skilled human power demands of all missions and shape AP as the skilled-workforce and Knowledge hub for the world.
